Popular Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has publicly accused Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Nation Bible Ministry, of what she described as “mischief,” following the circulation of a viral video showing the clergyman proposing to another woman—an act she claims came after he had promised to marry her.
The actress made the allegations in an emotional video shared on her Instagram page on Saturday, reacting to the leaked engagement clip that has since sparked widespread debate across social media platforms.
Doris Ogala Makes Shocking Allegations
According to Ogala, she and Pastor Okafor were romantically involved for several years. She alleged that the relationship deeply affected her life, accusing the pastor of financial exploitation, emotional trauma, and reputational damage. In her statements, she claimed she once became pregnant for him and accused him of exposing sensitive personal content, including intimate videos and images, without her consent.
Ogala further alleged that the relationship contributed to the breakdown of her marriage and claimed she has struggled emotionally since then, at times feeling overwhelmed and unstable. In another circulating video, actor Digidi Dunhill was seen escorting her to a hospital, expressing concern over her wellbeing after she reportedly injured herself.
Throughout her emotional outbursts, the actress repeatedly insisted that Pastor Okafor’s alleged engagement would not succeed, claiming she had not recovered from the events surrounding their relationship.
Pastor Chris Okafor Responds During Sermon
In response to the growing controversy, Pastor Okafor addressed the issue indirectly during a church sermon on Sunday, a clip of which later went viral. While he did not mention Ogala by name, the pastor spoke strongly about marriage, character, and submission, stating that no man would choose to marry a woman he described as arrogant or lacking discipline.
He emphasized that marriage is about finding a “wife” rather than just a woman, citing biblical references to support his stance. According to him, qualities such as humility, teachability, and good reputation are what men seek when choosing a life partner.

The controversy has also reignited discussions about Pastor Okafor’s past. Reports from Daily Post recall that the pastor was previously married to Bessem Okafor, who accused him in 2014 of physical assault at their Magodo residence in Lagos. His ex-wife reportedly left the marital home in 2012 and later claimed she was assaulted during a visit to see their four children.
In a 2019 interview with City People Magazine, Pastor Okafor revealed he had chosen not to remarry after the divorce, citing concerns about protecting his children and avoiding potential threats to their wellbeing.
